The vital importance of ambient radiation

Die lebenswichtige Bedeutung der Umgebungsstrahlung

For millions of years, life on Earth has evolved under the influence of natural ambient radiation. In its entirety, it governs and supports, with incredible precision and complexity, the processes in the human organism.

The most well-known form of ambient radiation is visible light emitted by the sun, moon, and stars. Much less known is the fact that these celestial objects collectively emit a broad spectrum of electromagnetic radiation that is invisible to us.

As the sun is the closest star to us, it is by far the most significant source of natural ambient radiation. It generates its energy through nuclear fusion reactions that occur in the sun's interior, releasing a vast amount of high-energy radiation. The radiation emitted by the sun is filtered through the Earth's atmosphere before reaching the Earth's surface. This attenuating effect strongly depends on the wavelength of the radiation. Visible radiation, light, and certain parts of the infrared radiation are nearly unimpeded, whereas UV radiation and other parts of the infrared radiation are almost completely filtered out.

Since all organisms on Earth have evolved under the influence of natural ambient radiation for a long time, it can be assumed that this radiation is not only vital but also has a significant influence on a healthy organism and its regulation. Likewise, a persistent lack of natural ambient radiation has a negative impact on all biological organisms.

Biophysics suggests that at least one level of the regulation of ambient radiation is electromagnetic in nature — working with and through frequencies and fields, thus significantly influencing life on Earth.

Particularly well-known in this context are the Schumann resonances, named after the German physicist and electrical engineer Otto Schumann. These are electromagnetic resonances of certain frequencies that form standing waves along the Earth's circumference, continuously sustained by lightning discharges.
